A Place at Forest Lawn

A Place at Forest Lawn is the present offering at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. Forest Lawn is an upscale cemetery in Hollywood. The play’s central character is a female resident of a nursing home who gets her son to visit her by sending him the bill for her personal, $75,000 mausoleum. The son comes expecting to bury his mother, but finds her still alive, and attempts reconciliation. Deep, dark secrets kept for decades are revealed, but I don’t know what they are, or how the story ends; I left at intermission. I recommend skipping this play.
